Mark Begich just beat out Sen. Ted Stevens for Alaska’s open Senate seat with over 3,000 votes. For several days, the official margin was three votes, with Begich in the lead.
If felon Sen. Ted Stevens was re-elected, he would have been expelled and Alaska would have a special election to replace him, a special election in which Sarah Palin was rumoured to be a potential GOP candidate.
That nightmare is now gone. You can go back to bed now, children, the scary lady is back in the farthest corner of the world for the next four years.

This makes me unspeakably happy.
