17-year-old James Neiley from Charlotte, Vermont spoke during a hearing prior to the Vermont Senate vote that legalised LGBT Marriage in that state.
He was well-spoken, elegant, made good points and showed a fabulous understanding of the effects of marriage bans on the psyche of gay youth and the prejudices of heterosexual youth and adults. And, because that’s what Jesus would do, Peter LaBarberastreisand of the fatuously-named “Americans for Truth About Homosexuality” pulled down his pants and crapped on young James, calling his faeces ‘an argument,’ even though it is apparent to all that it’s simply Peter’s excrement.
Behold in the YouTube video below the polar opposite of wisdom. It is sad and troubling, on so many levels: a 17-year-old boy, James Neiley, argues for same-sex “marriage” in a hearing prior to the Vermont Senate voting to legalize the same. Young, effeminate James is right about one thing: the cultural battle over the homosexual campaign to revolutionize “marriage” is, indeed, ultimately about whether homosexual behavior and relationships are OK and deserve government recognition and the rewards we used to reserve for actual marriage. But he’s wrong about everything else — including the idea that legalized “gay marriage” will ultimately validate his choice to embrace a homosexual identity. Before Vermont liberals, maybe, but not before a holy God, because Neiley is on a very dangerous eternal path. There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death (Proverbs 14:12).
As a Christian, I believe that every homosexual “coming out” is a tragedy — balanced off, as it were, by the wonderful testimonies of men and women who have “come out” of homosexuality. My heart aches over this mere child who has convinced himself of a very big adult lie — that he is intrinsically “gay.” Now the homosexual activists and fellow travelers cheer as James’ self-deception becomes a platform to promote corollary lies, of which “same-sex marriage” is but one. He even talks about having children! We will write some more about this video but in the meantime please pray for this confused teenager — that he will find and receive godly counsel and escape the clutches of a sin movement that endangers body and soul. And, because I watched Laura Dern plunge elbow-deep into triceratops shit on Jurassic Park today, a thorough dissection of this dense wad of poop seems to be in order… if only so I can best that slack-jawed two-bit nobody. (I only hate her because I want to be her.)
Dear Peter LaBarberastreisand,
I had trouble finding a single sentence in your two-paragraph screed against James Neiley that didn’t outrage reason or suggest that your rampant hatred of homosexuals stems from jealousy and your desire to be able to express your own latent homosexuality like they can do, so freely and openly. I find it hard to believe that the three verses in the Bible that specifically speak against homosexuality (two of which are in the same book which outlaws shellfish and poly-blend) are enough to force you to centre your entire ministry, and indeed your entire ideology, on the hatred of homosexuals. Jesus never mentioned homosexuality, but he did preach love of all people, something you clearly forgot.
Anyway, here’s a deconstruction of your statement. Do with it what you will. But if you should choose to reconsider your ministry and follow more closely the loving teachings of Jesus, rather than ignorantly lashing out at gay teenage boys on the Internet (something dangerously close to a scandal), please let me know and I’ll give you my complete support.
Behold in the YouTube video below the polar opposite of wisdom.
Wisdom is not the segregation of the human race due to ancient ideas, passed along by word of mouth and then retranslated thousands of times. Wisdom is not wilful ignorance of scientific, sociological and medical evidence that disagrees with your theological views.
It is sad and troubling, on so many levels: a 17-year-old boy, James Neiley, argues for same-sex “marriage” in a hearing prior to the Vermont Senate voting to legalize the same.
First, and this is just a pet peeve from a grammatical point of view, no matter how many times you put quotation marks around the word marriage, gay marriage is still marriage. Your religion says it isn’t and that’s fine. We can work on dragging you, kicking and screaming, out of the Bronze Age later, but for now, we’re working on equal rights as promised by our country’s founding documents. Marriage, in the sense that this debate covers, is a strictly legal term with no religious attachments. Church and State marriages are entirely different things, which is why straight people still need a secular marriage license from the state in addition to their religious wedding ceremony.
Why is it sad and troubling, Mr. LaBarberastreisand? Are you upset that James is from a family that loves him and supports him even though he is gay? Are you upset that James is so articulate and educated about the effects gay marriage will have on Vermont’s youth? Are you upset that James is helping to expose the effect that organisations like yours have on youth homophobic abuse? You should be sad and troubled by all of this, since it seeks, persuasively, to put you out of a job.
Young, effeminate James is right about one thing: the cultural battle over the homosexual campaign to revolutionize “marriage” is, indeed, ultimately about whether homosexual behavior and relationships are OK and deserve government recognition and the rewards we used to reserve for actual marriage.
The word effeminate contributes nothing to your argument. You aren’t arguing that his effeminacy somehow affects his ability to love or be a husband or father. As fallacious as those arguments are, they would be the only reason to include that word in an argument. So you must be doing it to present an ad hominim logical fallacy to us. How classy! You can’t effectively argue with a teenaged boy on the Internet, so you simply attack him. It’s times like this that you should be glad that your little fringe blog site isn’t legitimate… because if you tried to present yourself as a legitimate news source, you would have to adhere to journalistic ethics… and that tiny one-word attack on a young kid would likely be grounds for a very expensive libel case.
And you obviously didn’t watch the whole video. James didn’t say the entire argument is about whether or not it’s okay to be gay. He said, at one point, “There is nothing wrong with being gay. That really is what we are debating here,” but the whole premise of his argument was that it is okay to be gay and it should be legal to be married too. His statement that homosexuality is okay was not phrased as if it were up for debate because that wasn’t the thesis of his testimony, yet it’s what you chose to focus on… because you can’t handle arguing against real facts like teen suicide rates or school bullying. The most important point of his testimony, one that you so clumsily danced around in your screed, was that organisations like yours that continue to push for the illegality of same-sex marriage feed into the hatred of young people who then turn to the homosexuals in their student body and harass and abuse them…
[Not wanting to put words into James’ mouth, I’ll point out that the continuation of this point is entirely mine.]
…and sometimes kill them, as was the case in the recent murder of Lawrence King. Also, gay teenagers are way more likely to kill themselves than any other group. Gay students are afraid to go to class because they are taunted and bullied by peers. They are afraid to go out in public where classmates or other community members can see them and mock them. Then they kill themselves. And why is this? Because people like you actively push for their rights to be suppressed. Because people like you encourage shame and humiliation. Because people like you feed the hate machine that pushes these kids to suicide.
But he’s wrong about everything else — including the idea that legalized “gay marriage” will ultimately validate his choice to embrace a homosexual identity.
Hey, LaBarberastreisand, when the fuck did you choose to be straight? When did you sit down with your Bible and think, “Hmm… the Lord wants me to be straight, so I’m going to be straight.” If you can actually give me a date on that decision, you aren’t straight. You’re gay. You chose to pretend to be straight. People don’t choose their sexual orientation, no matter how much you would like to cling to that ignorant assumption. Straight people don’t choose to be straight and gay people don’t choose to be gay. You are what you are, no matter what you pretend.
Before Vermont liberals, maybe, but not before a holy God, because Neiley is on a very dangerous eternal path. There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death (Proverbs 14:12).
Okay… but Vermont “liberals” are responsible the law. It is up to them to ensure that all Americans are treated equally under the law. They did the right thing. Your God, or whoever claims to speak for him, is only allowed to determine who gets married in your church. And you have that right still. This isn’t an argument about saving the souls of gay teenagers, this is an argument of law. And the law should protect equality, whether or not you think that people who want to be equal to you are going to hell. And I would argue with your interpretation of that verse based on context, but you stopped reading after the first paragraph, so I’ll let your theological ignorance slide for now.
But even if the Bible specifically said, “All gay people are terrible, this isn’t up for debate, all of them are going to hell, and gay marriage is sinful,” I still wouldn’t care. This is America. Your religion’s laws don’t dictate our laws.
As a Christian, I believe that every homosexual “coming out” is a tragedy — balanced off, as it were, by the wonderful testimonies of men and women who have “come out” of homosexuality.
And that’s your own opinion. It also holds no bearing on law. Just as my opinion holds no bearing on law: As a reality-loving individual, I believe that every brainwashed "ex-gay” is a tragedy—balanced off, as it were, by the wonderful testimonies of men and women who have come out of the closet and embraced their true homosexuality, rather than hiding within themselves and living a lie.
My heart aches over this mere child who has convinced himself of a very big adult lie — that he is intrinsically “gay.”
I can’t speak for James but I cant state for a fact that I am indeed intrinsically gay. It’s not a lie. I’ve tried to have sex with women, and even succeeded in the mechanical action of heterosexual sex more than once, but I could never get an erection from being intimate with a woman without the influence of alcohol. Even when I could ‘get it up,’ I still had a very hard time ejaculating or achieving orgasm with women. I am most certainly not intrinsically straight. I’m definitely gay. But even before my impotence in regards to sex with women was discovered, I knew I was gay. Just like straight men know they are straight without having ever had sex with a man, I knew I was gay.
Now the homosexual activists and fellow travelers cheer as James’ self-deception becomes a platform to promote corollary lies, of which “same-sex marriage” is but one.
Yes, and James is standing on that platform too. Are you trying to make it seem that James is just an innocent kid being taken advantage of by those evil Nazis at the Human Rights Campaign? You just attacked him by calling him effeminate! Make up your mind!
He even talks about having children!
OH NOES! TEH GHEYZ WANTZ TO HAS BABYZORZ!!!11!1!!!one!
Newsflash, LaBarberastreisand, same-sex couples are allowed to adopt in most of the United States, often because the law says nothing about gay adoption, but in many cases because the law specifically accepts it. Also, the law school at UCLA has found that, “A national ban on GLB foster care could cost [the US] from $87 to $130 million [annually].” Also, there is no conclusive research on the subject of the psychological effects of being raised by a same-sex couple, but until straight couples can start raising kids that don’t need therapists and medication to function in society, I don’t think they have a right to complain.

I doubt James has any interest in reading your website, so I won’t write him an email to be couriered through you. But thanks for the offer. However, I have sent this email to you, Mr. LaBarberastreisand, but I doubt you’ll publish it. In fact, I’ll bet on it: If you publish this, in full, on your website, I’ll donate $10 to your crap organisation. If you don’t, I’ll call you a cold, jiggling set of stretched-out smegma-flecked pussy lips where my readers can see it.
Sincerely,
John Reed Braden

Oh… and LaBarberastreisand is last week’s HG Dumbass of the Week.
I was too busy on Saturday to do the segment, so let this count for that.
Congrats, Peter! You earned it!

I approve of this. Just got done posting about this over on my blog. Porno Pete needs to pick on someone his own size.
